Our little terrorist

Lately I wish I could do this to this little one...

That's right my friends...put her behind bars, or maybe a large puppy kennel would work too!

Emma has just mastered opening doors and finds it necessary to destroy everything in sight. I feel as though I need to follow her around all day if I want my house to stay somewhat in order. Please let this just be a phase that will hopefully come to an end soon! For now I will be purchasing those child proof door handle covers and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it just might bring me some sanity.

But...

At least she is so darn cute! How could I possibly stay mad at this sweet face! I just love my little terrorist...as her daddy likes to call her.

Silly Husband!!!

Dave received this email from his dad earlier this week:

If you have some things I can put in about your family in our 2008 holiday newsletter I would sure like to hear about it. I'm hoping to get this printed and in the mail later this week. I have most of the normal stuff but if you have things you'd like for me to report I would appreciate it. Thanks,-Dad

My ever so hilarious husband's reply:

Well let's see. You probably have the big stuff, but here is a quick rundown:

Emma recently graduated to the nursery and church now has a purpose again for Daddy. Emma was recently voted most likely to be addicted to shoes from her nursery class. Her mother is very proud.

Dylan likes to announce every time he poops on the potty "I went poop, I went poop!!!!" Dylan had the lead roll in the primary musical. He is currently auditioning for the lead role in High School Musical 12. Right now he is narrowing his career choices down to fighter pilot or puppy. At this point it's 50-50.

Megan recently won the award for "Best Service Ever!" while working at the Cheesecake Factory. Currently the company is considering making her the new CEO based upon her heroics in trying to save a cart full of liqueur from tipping over and crashing. Megan sacrificed her body to save the adult beverages and the company is very thankful. Megan also recently completed the certification for the RSC (registered shopping consultant) and plans to have a small bedroom built inside of the new part of the Roseville Mall.

Dave Jr. recently completed his internship at the hospital, passed the BAR examine, certified as capable on supersonic aircraft and just completed his thesis on "Quantum physics and it's relation to sub-atomic molecules" from which we expect him to receive the Nobel Peace prize early next year. After his unexplained growth spurt which left Dave standing at 6'4" and 245lbs of solid muscle, he is considering several offers from top tier teams from Major League Baseball, the NFL, the NBA and the professional badminton league.

Happy holidays,

the Dave Jr. Family

Seriously...where does he come up with this stuff...I am still laughing!!!!

Halloween Photo Shoot

I just love Halloween and it has been a tradition of ours to have the Elmer kids and the Fear kids Halloween pictures taken together. In the past we have always taken them at picture people but with Katie's new found photography skills we decided to have her take them at Bishops Pumpkin Patch. She did such an amazing job, as always! I must admit it was quite the struggle though to get the kids to cooperate, but in the end she got some really cute pictures. Here are just a few of my favs...

I just love this one of Dylan and Kammy

Our Worst Nightmare!

Ok, so maybe it isn't our absolute worst nightmare but it is sure up there towards the top of the list. Our sweet innocent baby girl (yeah right) has mastered climbing out of her crib! She isn't even a year and a half yet? I am pretty sure this isn't supposed to be happening. What happened was I put Emma down for her nap and she slept the usual 2 to 3 hours, so I decided to go and get her out of her crib and to my astonishment she had already done so herself! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Dylan was highly impressed as he praised Emma telling her,"Emma you are so smart!" and then he looks at me and says, "Mommy Emma is such a smart girl...like me!". I then asked him, "So you're a girl now huh?". His reply, "No, I am not a girl! I am a boy and I am awesome!". After we got that all cleared up I called Dave to tell him what we were in for and he asked me, "Well are you sure you even put her in the crib in the first place?". Wow! He must really think I am crazy! Of course I put her in her crib for her nap! So we go about the rest of our day and nap #2 rolls around. I put Emma in her crib, shut the door and go down stairs to watch TV with Dylan. And after about a half hour I hear drawers slamming shut, squeals of delight, and little feet stomping. Sure enough she did it again! But this time she managed to destroy her whole room, emptying every drawer. I am not sure how to deal with this one. Dylan never once tried to climb out of his crib and he was a little over two years old when we switched him to a big boy bed. I guess the only positive thing I can think of from all of this is...at least she can't open the door...yet!

WARNING: Do not be fooled by this innocent face! She is just planning her next move!!!

Guess who is potty trained???

This guy!!!

And it was so easy too! I think the key is to just wait until they are ready and then they pretty much do it on their own. At least that is how it worked out for us. For a while there we thought Dylan would be in diapers forever but he sure proved us wrong. He is doing so awesome, even at night. We are very proud of him!

{for the record, I did not dress my kid like this. He did it all on his own. As you can see, his boots are on the wrong feet. He is too silly}

Dylan's First Primary Talk

Last Sunday Dylan gave his first talk in primary and he did fantastic! His teacher Sister Cookson told me that whenever another child would go up to give a talk Dylan would always ask when it was going to be his turn and he finally got it! He was so excited to be able to stand up in front of all the kids and talk in the microphone, it was all he could talk about all week! He would say, "I am giving a talk on Holy Temples and Jesus Christ!"(too cute). Dave helped him with his talk...It was a little long for such a little guy but he did great! He wasn't the least bit nervous (just the thought of having to get up in front of a group of people and speak makes my stomach turn). We are just so proud of him and the little man he is becoming.
