Guess who is potty trained???

This guy!!!

And it was so easy too! I think the key is to just wait until they are ready and then they pretty much do it on their own. At least that is how it worked out for us. For a while there we thought Dylan would be in diapers forever but he sure proved us wrong. He is doing so awesome, even at night. We are very proud of him!

{for the record, I did not dress my kid like this. He did it all on his own. As you can see, his boots are on the wrong feet. He is too silly}

Dylan's First Primary Talk

Last Sunday Dylan gave his first talk in primary and he did fantastic! His teacher Sister Cookson told me that whenever another child would go up to give a talk Dylan would always ask when it was going to be his turn and he finally got it! He was so excited to be able to stand up in front of all the kids and talk in the microphone, it was all he could talk about all week! He would say, "I am giving a talk on Holy Temples and Jesus Christ!"(too cute). Dave helped him with his talk...It was a little long for such a little guy but he did great! He wasn't the least bit nervous (just the thought of having to get up in front of a group of people and speak makes my stomach turn). We are just so proud of him and the little man he is becoming.

We wish we were here (enjoying the sun, splashing and having fun) but....

We are stuck inside because of all the smoke! Ahh...when will it go away!

Dyl's New Do

Ok, so Dylan has been getting his hair cut about every 3 weeks ever since he was one. And after having watched the lady do it so many times I thought to myself "I can do this!". So...I gave it a try and it turned out that I can't:( Now Dyl is sporting the buzzed look. I really like it though, and the best part is I can do it myself and it's free!

He loves to help his mommy!
I just love my little man!

Never Again!

Ok so it has been awhile since I have had a new post and today I finally decided that this is the day! So...I go to grab my camera to download all the pictures I had taken in the last two months and to my astonishment there were no pictures on my camera! The first thing that ran through my head was EMMA!!!
I remember while we were visiting my sister the other night I had given it to her to try to keep her quiet while Baby Jaxon slept. Man was this the biggest mistake ever! I guess I have no one to blame but myself:( So it might be awhile for my next post and please learn from my mistake! Never let your little one play with your camera no matter how loud and fussy they may be!!!
(If anyone knows of any way possible that I might be able to get the pics back please let me know!)

Emma's 1st Birthday!!!

Our little Emma Belle turned 1 this last Saturday!

We celebrated this momentous occasion at Whitney Park with family and friends! Everyone had a blast and Emma loved the swings!

She loved being the center of attention and having everyone sing to her (I am pretty sure she gets this quality from her daddy)! And she found my cake to be quite yummy! Woo hoo! The giant cupcake turned out to be a success!

Then it was time to open gifts. With Mommy's help of course! It was so much fun to watch her little face light up every time we opened a new gift!

By the end of the day our sweet Emma was all worn out! It turned out to be the perfect 1st birthday for our perfect little girl!

BeAuTiFul

So I decided to see if I had an undiscovered baking/cake decorating talent and make Emma's first birthday cake! The theme was cupcakes and I found this adorable giant cupcake cake pan at Michael's. So I bought it and then headed home for a practice run! It all seemed pretty easy but it definitely didn't turn out the way I had imagined! So I set it on the counter and thought to myself, "Maybe I will just order a cake!":( Then my little Dylan walked into the kitchen, took one look at my disaster, I mean cake, and in the most sincere voice said,"Awww...Mommy it is beautiful!". Instantly my heart melted and my eyes began to tear up. I bent down gave him a big hug and told him how much I just love him! I had never heard him use the word beautiful before. I wouldn't have been surprised if he said my cake was awesome, since that is the word he uses most to describe anything he likes! But no, he said it was beautiful! It was just the encouragement I needed to want to try again! It is amazing how a small child can uplift you! It is little moments like this that make feel so grateful to be a mommy! I don't know what I would do without my silly little man!
